Love is Love: Designing for a Pride-inspired celebration

Every so often, a project comes along that allows you to create without limits. The LGBTQ+ Pride styled shoot was one of those opportunities. It celebrated love in its truest form and gave me the chance to design not one, but two invitation suites that were as vibrant and dynamic as the couples they represented.

Two Themes, One Message

moments memories

This shoot featured two distinct themes: sun-kissed summer and funky spring. Each couple brought their own personality and style to the shoot. My role was to capture those vibes in stationery that would set the tone for each celebration. The result was two completely different suites that still spoke the same message: love is love, and it is worth celebrating boldly.

For the Sun-kissed Summer theme, I leaned into a palette of bright pinks and oranges. The design featured a custom background with oranges and green stripes, which tied beautifully into the décor where real and dried oranges were used throughout the setting.

The suite included:
  • Gatefold invitation showcasing the custom orange-and-stripe design
  • Refined main invitation that balanced the vibrancy with sophistication
  • Pill-shaped details card double-printed with stripes for extra flair
  • Circular RSVP card in a bold orange color
  • Custom monogram to tie everything together

Day-of details were equally joyful. I created a custom seating chart tag wrapped around a faux champagne tower, half-circle menu cards flood-printed in pink, and circular name cards at each seat adorned with hand-made tassels. These elements were playful, unique, and exactly what the theme called for.

Celebrating love in full color

This styled shoot was about more than paper. It was about celebrating every kind of love, embracing individuality, and showing that weddings do not have to fit a mold to be beautiful. Both suites captured the heart of these celebrations while proving that stationery can set the tone for an event in ways that are deeply personal and wildly fun.

Sun-kissed Summer: Bright, Warm, and Playful

The funky spring theme allowed me to take creativity to another level. The color palette combined electric blues, rich greens, vibrant purples, and bold contrasts of black and white. It felt fun, high-energy, and completely unexpected, which was perfect for the two grooms who wanted their wedding to feel anything but ordinary.

For this suite, I focused on playful elements and unexpected details:

  • Invitation with non-traditional wording and a vibrant checkerboard pattern
  • Wavy double-sided details card featuring a fun “It’s a furever thing” design with their dogs on one side and the wedding details on the other
  • Half-circle RSVP card that invited guests to say they were “in” for the celebration
  • Checkerboard envelope liner in coordinating colors, which matched the custom dance floor created for the shoot
  • The entire suite was held together by an adorable paperclip, adding to its whimsical charm
